Appearance measures how much control you get over how your custom AI girlfriend looks.

Some apps give you dozens of choices for hair, body type, clothing, and other details. Others give you only a few basic presets, which makes it much harder to create the character you actually have in mind.

The first eight tests cover appearance. Personality Presets covers the basic personality choice shown during character creation. More detailed personality controls are tested separately under the Personality subscore.

Appearance is organized into 9 evidence groups. Each group contains one scored test: Age, Ethnicity, Eye Color, Body Type, Breast Size, Hair Style, Hair Color, Outfits, and Personality Presets.

How the Appearance score is calculated

Every scored test gets a score from 0 to 10.

Some tests count slightly more than others. We apply each test’s weight and combine the results to calculate the final Appearance score. Appearance makes up 34% of the Customization score.

Each test gets a score from 0 to 10. We multiply that score by how much the test counts, then add all the points together.

Appearance makes up 34% of the Customization score. Customization makes up 15% of the overall performance score.

Manual adjustment

In rare cases, we may adjust a score when the calculated result is clearly unfair. We always record the reason.

Why Appearance matters

Creating your own AI girlfriend is supposed to give you more control than choosing someone from the ready-made library.

That does not help much when the creator only gives you three body types, a few hairstyles, and almost no clothing choices.

The difference between apps can be huge. One platform may let you choose from dozens of hairstyles, outfits, colors, and body options. Another may only give you a handful of basic presets.

More useful choices make it easier to create someone who matches what you actually like. They also help the app feel less repetitive because you are not forced to create the same basic character every time.

This score only looks at the options the creator gives you. Whether the finished character actually looks good is tested separately under Images.

What good Appearance looks like

A high Appearance score means the character creator gives you plenty of useful choices across the face, hair, body, clothing, and basic character setup. A lower score means most settings only have a few presets, important options are missing, or many characters end up looking very similar.

How we test Appearance

We use a paid account and open the full character creator.

We go through the creator once and count every selectable option for age, ethnicity, eye color, body type, breast size, hair style, hair color, and outfits.

We also count the basic personality presets offered during creation because they are part of the current Appearance score.

We only count options that normal users can select. We do not count options that are shown in marketing images but are not available inside the creator.

When the app uses a slider or custom color picker instead of normal presets, we record how the control works and explain any limit that affects the count.

Limitations and edge cases

More options do not always mean more real control. An app may show 50 hair colors that are almost identical, while another app may offer fewer presets but include a proper custom color picker.

Some options may also be connected. For example, choosing one visual style may remove certain hairstyles, outfits, or body types.

Character creators can change regularly. Platforms may add new presets, remove old ones, or move choices behind a more expensive plan.

This score measures the options available in the creator. It does not measure whether the finished image follows those choices correctly. We test that separately under Images and Control.

It is a small detail, but having only two or three colors makes the creator feel very basic.

Hair is one of the most noticeable parts of a character, so a small selection can make created characters look repetitive.
