Platform Extras looks at optional experiences that go beyond normal text chat.

This includes features such as live AI cam, interactive videos, shorts, roulette, and episodic stories. These extras can make an app feel more immersive, but they should not earn points just because they exist.

Only Live Cam affects the score. Other extras are listed in the review but do not add or remove points.

How the Platform Extras score is calculated

Platform Extras works differently from most other subscores.

Live Cam is the only scored test. Other extras are recorded so readers can see what else the app offers, but they do not affect the score.

Live Cam is a bonus-only feature. An app is not punished simply because it does not offer one. Platform Extras makes up of the Chat Features score.

Manual adjustment

Why Platform Extras matters

AI girlfriend technology is moving extremely fast.

A few years ago, even voice messages were uncommon. Apps later added phone calls, interactive videos, and now live webcam-style experiences.

These features can make an app feel more like a full entertainment platform instead of a basic chatbot.

That said, a new feature is not automatically a good feature.

Some apps add flashy buttons that barely work or only exist to sell more credits. Others build extras that are genuinely fun and give you something different to do when you get bored with normal chat.

That is why we test Live Cam and record other notable extras instead of trusting the feature list on the homepage.

How we test Platform Extras

We use a paid account and open the app’s bonus-feature area.

First, we check whether the platform offers a Live Cam or webcam-style experience with a character on video.

When it is available, we record how the feature is opened, which characters support it, whether the experience works, any important limits, and supporting proof.

We then record any other notable extras, such as shorts, roulette, interactive videos, episodic stories, or other unusual experiences.

For each extra, we save a short name, a simple description, and proof where possible.

Other Extras do not affect the score. They are included because they can still help readers decide whether the app offers something interesting beyond normal chat.

Limitations and edge cases

Platform extras can depend on the device, subscription, region, or selected character.

A feature may be available on mobile but missing from desktop. Some users may also receive access before others during a slow rollout.

The word “live” can mean different things across platforms. We judge the experience available to normal users rather than guessing which technology runs behind it.

This score mainly checks whether Live Cam is available and usable. It does not fully score video quality, character accuracy, or generation costs. Those details can be discussed in the review and tested under Video or Pricing where relevant.

Bonus features also change quickly. Our results show what was available on the recorded test date.
